Elizabeth's Story

Life I moved "home" to Louisiana the week following graduation from Glenbard South. I graduated from LSU in 1987 (Poli Sci), and moved to Texas for law school, graduating in 1991. I met my husband, Tom, in 1987 at the wedding of a mutual friend in Dallas, TX. We had a long distance relationship until our marriage on 6/10/89. We have been blessed in finding one another. A little over two years after we married, the babies started coming! We have five beautiful children, Jackson, Kayleigh, Patrick, Connor and Laurel. I practiced law for a few years, primarily doing product liability and personal injury litigation. After the arrival of baby number two, I gradually became a full time mom for twleve years. I still keep VERY busy with the kids and all their activities. But, I went back to work in 2006. I spent 18 months working for the Louisiana State Bar Association, with my office at the bar-endorsed malpractice carrier. In the summer of 2007, I moved over to be in house counsel and the regulatory compliance officer for a community bank. Tom has been a professor of Microbiology & Immunology at Tulane Medical School since 2005. Tom and I have lived in quite a few places: Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA; Atlanta, GA; Zurich, Switzerland; Birmingham, AL and Hagerstown, MD. We are happily settled in Mandeville, LA (across the lake from New Orleans) and hope to make this our pe...Expand for more
rmanent home. I treasure my memories of GSHS. I met the most wonderful people there. I am still in close contact with a few (Jodi A., Jim S., Cary L. & Bill K.'85). Every blue moon I hear from Ellen S., Beth R., Sharon D.,and Mary K. I hope to reconnect with many more people I hold dear to my heart. I get an occasional call or letter from Mr. Murray. Sadly he was the one who called me with the tragic news of Lisa Rogers' death. I still can't quite wrap my brain around that, but it has moved me and affected me deeply. It is the reason I have decided to seek out my old friends before I no longer have the chance. Time has a way of putting life into perspective. I know that I want only the best for all the people who were a part of shaping me into the person I am today. I hope you all have had wonderful lives, and have experienced many joys. I would love to hear from any of my old classmates, or folks at GSHS when I was there. I was a busy kid back then...pep club, thespians, choir, mock trials, yearbook, newspaper, student union...I fondly remember it all. School After graduating from Glenbard South in 1984, I moved to Baton Rouge, LA and attended LSU. I graduated in 1987 with a BA in Political Science. I moved to Houston, Texas after college where I attended South Texas College of Law (affiliated with Texas A&M University). I graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1991.
